Puerto Rican Folklore
The Taíno tribe-people, the Spaniards, and the slaves imported from Africa all contributed to the folklore heritage of Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico has many cultural symbols, such as the Maga flower, the Queen Mora bird, the Kapok and Flamboyant trees, the Coquí frog, the jíbaro, the Taíno Indian, and the Garita landmark to mention a few. Some of the most traditional Puerto Rican celebrations are Los Tres Reyes Magos Day, San Sebastián Street Festival, Ponce Carnival, Casals Festival, Saborea Puerto Rico, and Noche de San Juan.
The following is a collection of artworks inspired by Puerto Rican folklore.
